At the Centre de vie, we place great importance on protecting your personal information. This policy explains, in simple terms, what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what your rights are.
It applies to the centredevie.ca website and to information collected during a booking, a registration, an appointment or any communication with us. It was written in light of Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector .
1. Person in charge of the protection of personal information
The Centre de vie is responsible for protecting the personal information it holds. For any question, request or complaint on this subject, you can contact our person in charge of the protection of personal information:
- Email: reservation@centredevie.ca
- Telephone: 819-428-2215
- Address: Centre de vie, 14, chemin du Petit 5e Rang, Ripon (Quebec) J0V 1V0
2. Information we collect
We only collect the information needed for the purposes described in this policy, including:
- Contact information : name, email, telephone number, mailing address.
- Booking information : dates, type of stay, treatment or event, number of people, allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Treatment-related information : information about your health that you choose to share with us before a treatment, when it helps adapt the treatment to your situation. This information is sensitive and is handled with particular care.
- Payment information : online payments are processed directly by our payment providers. The Centre de vie does not itself collect your credit card numbers on its website.
- Browsing information : IP address, type of device and browser, pages viewed, collected through cookies (see section 6).
3. Why we collect this information
- To manage your bookings, registrations and appointments;
- To communicate with you about your stay or your request;
- To adapt our services to your needs (meals, treatments, welcome);
- To send you our newsletter, if you are subscribed;
- To improve our website and our services;
- To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
We do not use your information for other purposes without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.
4. How we collect this information
- Directly from you: website forms, online booking, email, telephone or on site;
- Automatically, when you visit the website, through cookies.
5. Your consent
By providing your information for the stated purposes, you consent to its use for those purposes. Subscribing to the newsletter is done only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in each mailing.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to our person in charge of the protection of personal information, subject to our legal or contractual obligations. However, withdrawal may prevent us from processing a booking in progress.
6. Cookies and measurement tools
Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work properly. Only with your consent, we may also use audience measurement and advertising tools, such as Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. These cookies are disabled by default: you can accept or refuse them using the banner displayed on your first visit, and change your choice at any time. You can also block them in your browser settings.
The Google Maps map embedded in some pages may place its own cookies when you use it.
7. Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with the providers who help us deliver our services, and only to the extent necessary:
- Reservit: booking and payment of stays and treatments;
- Square: sale of gift certificates;
- Mailchimp: sending the newsletter;
- Our web host: hosting of the website;
- Ticketing or registration platforms used for certain events, where applicable.
These providers are required to protect your information and to use it only for the services they provide to us. We may also share information when required by law.
8. Information kept outside Quebec
Some of our providers (for example Reservit, Square and Mailchimp) may store or process your information outside Quebec. Before sharing information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection there, and we frame this sharing with a written agreement, as required by law.
9. Retention and destruction
We keep your information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or for the period required by law. Accounting records related to your bookings are kept for six years after the end of the year to which they relate, as required by Revenu Québec. Your contact information is kept for three years after your last stay or your last contact with us. Your email address is removed from the newsletter as soon as you unsubscribe. Once these purposes have been fulfilled, the information is securely destroyed or anonymized.
10. Security
We take reasonable security measures to protect your information against loss, theft and unauthorized access: access is restricted to members of our team who need it for their work, our accounts are password-protected and our website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we will notify the persons concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information, as provided by law.
11. Your rights
At any time, you can:
- ask to consult the information we hold about you;
- ask that it be corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent to its use or sharing;
- ask that we stop disseminating information about you or that a hyperlink attached to your name be de-indexed, under the conditions provided by law;
- ask to receive the information you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format.
To exercise these rights, write to our person in charge (section 1). We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will reply in writing no later than 30 days after receiving your request.
12. Children
Our website is not intended for children. The personal information of a child under 14 is only collected with the consent of a parent or guardian.
13. Complaints
If you believe that your information has not been handled in accordance with this policy, please first write to our person in charge: we will process your complaint diligently. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (www.cai.gouv.qc.ca).
14. Changes
We may change this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The current version is always published on this page, with its update date.
